Dr. Abhijit N Jinde

20 March, 2020

In my two decades of clinical Ayurveda practice I have seen many patients who not only manifest imbalance at the physical level but an important element of psychological involvement is often seen. Ayurveda states that diseases are complex recipe made of physical and emotional ingredients. While treating physical disorders we focus on correcting the imbalances in the three doshas and body tissues, but there is always a need to discipline the mind which plays an important role in the recovery and prognosis. Irrespective of how much mild or severe the physical dosha are disturbed, the mind has to be positive, devoid of fear and negativity for successful curability. This is not only true while treating any diseases but is also very important in life situations. If your mind is well disciplined, not thinking too much, not thinking in fear and skepticism or uncertainty, not in negativity it will definitely delivers positive outcome be it life challenges or dealing with physical and mental disorders. ‘Satva’ is the quality of mind which needs to be nurtured and Ayurveda has so much to offer in disciplining of mind and improving this quality through varies guidelines. Healthy lifestyle, positivity, faithful prayers, gratitude, Satvic diet, yoga & meditation and above all the herbs is a great offering of Ayurveda to keep the mind in state of paucity and stability.

In my clinical practice I have noticed that use of such herbs helps to strengthen the mind and creates a great shift in how one responds to stress and challenges of life. ‘Atichintan’ which is too much thinking or worrying, too much analytic work or personality turns the mind towards skepticism, lack of confidence, fear and if continued for long duration can lead to hopelessness and depression. Herbs such as Ashwagandha, Jatamansi, Bhramhi and others helps in balancing the mind. I have used the same herbs in appropriate proportion and with the right medium at bed time to improve the quality and duration of sleep. Such herbs are definitely safer, non dependency options to chemical drugs. Resto tablet is designed after years clinical application of such herbs and it does make a great difference in the happiness of the clients.
