It is one of the finest text compiling the knowledge of eight branches of Ayurveda in the most simplest, poetic and most concise manner. Vagbhat was son of Simhagupta born in the region of Sindhu river. He spends last days of his life in Kerala and immensely contributed to the growth and wisdom of Ayurveda in this part of India.

Lifestyle tips to avoid bad effects on the eyes-

  •   Posture corrections- Ergonomically correct position of the screen, distance of the screen from the eyes.
  •   Try to light your room roughly equal to how much light your screen is producing. Screen time in a dark room while looking at a bright screen will strain the eyes more.
  •   Avoid hot water head shower as the hot water can aggravate the pitta dosha in the eyes.
  •   Take breaks- Practice the 20-20-20 rule. Take a break every 20 minutes and stare at an object about 20 feet away from you for at least 20 seconds.
  •   Eye Pads applications- Alovera gel pads on the eyes, Rose water soaked eye pads, Pulp of cucumber pack.
  •   Daily foot massage with coconut oil can be very useful.
  •   Avoid and treat acidity and constipation- These two digestion related issues directly affect the health of the eyes. If the bowels are not clear there can be upward movement of the Vata and Pitta which can over long period affect the eyes. Chronic acidity will increase the heating effect of Pitta in the eyes as it is the main location of this dosha.
  •   Avoid direct exposure to sun light
  •   Avoid sleep deprivation.
